A Letter From Sarah: What It Means to Fuel Your Stoke.

In surfing, we talk about being “stoked” or sharing the “stoke”, and what we’re talking about is sharing the overwhelming enthusiasm and excitement that we get from surfing. I believe that this feeling is accessible to everyone, not just surfers. We can access that by properly fueling our bodies with nutritious food and staying active.

We all have something in our lives that excites us. Perhaps it’s your hobby, relationship, or sport that brings you so much joy and excitement. Sadly, clients often come to me feeling burnt out or unworthy of that level of joy. They tend to be underfed, underactive, overweight, and fearful of changing their lifestyle. Once we begin to align their nutrition with their goals, they have more energy to do the things they love. They feel more confident in their day-to-day lives and it radiates off of them.

Fueling your stoke means taking care of your nutrition. Making sure that we do the basics of eating fruits, veggies, lean proteins, and healthy fats. Moving our bodies in a way that makes us happy and that we can sustain for a long time. It means loving ourselves enough to believe that we are worthy of our goals and taking care of ourselves.
