3 Tips to Begin Your Fitness Routine
Starting anything new-especially a fitness routine- can be daunting. Here are my top 3 tips to help you get started!
Consider what you like - Some people like really high intensity, full-on pain cave, ugly face workouts (me, hi!), while others prefer less intensity or even lower impact like yoga or pilates. The best fitness routine is the one you will stick to. You can even mix and match! I use yoga a LOT to help me with recovering from my training. I even have a few sample routines on my Instagram if you want a good place to start!
Go for a walk or run - It’s free, the weather is getting nicer, and we all function better when we spend some time outdoors. You can control how long your workout is and how intense it is. Once you start getting into a routine, perhaps you shorten the run but make it faster. Maybe you do a walk-run where you spend 30 minutes total alternating between 2 minutes of walking and 1 of running.
Just go for it - There’s a quote that everyone knows, “Do it scared',” and it’s true. Sometimes, you’ll feel super intimidated and you just have to push through. I can say from experience that I’ve walked into situations that were intimidating to me, but as long as I kept my head up and focused on my goals, everything was fine. Remember your reason for walking into the gym door or heading out for a run.
