Hempy Hippie Toast

Peanut butter and banana, a classic combo but let’s add a little twist. This recipe includes a sprinkle of hemp hearts on top. Hemp hearts are AMAZING in so many ways!

  1. They’re a good source of vegan protein because a whopping 25% of their calories come from protein. That’s higher than chia seeds and flaxseeds!

  2. Hemp hearts are a great source of iron and zinc.

  3. They’re rich in healthy fats that contribute to glowing skin and healthy hair. Not to mention healthy fats help to keep us feeling full.

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of bread of choice (I chose to use sourdough).

  • 2 TBS of peanut butter (try to choose nut butter that only contains nuts and salt. No palm oil needed ;) )

  • 1 banana cut into coins.

  • 1 TBS hemp hearts

  • optional: drizzle of honey or maple syrup if you want to keep it vegan. Coconut flakes will add a little tropical flare and some additional healthy fats and texture. A dash of cinnamon will also add a nice dimensional flavor to your toast.

Directions:

  • Toast bread to your liking.

  • Slice your banana into coins and set aside.

  • Once your bread is done, slather on your peanut butter and top with the banana coins, hemp hearts, and additional toppings.
