Client Wins: Shannon

Congratulations to my client, Shannon, on recently completing the Palm Beaches Half-Marathon! Before the event, we talked about how she should fuel based on her body and preferences. Then, we talked about race day breakfast and snacks as well as hydration. Here are a few words from Shannon:

Sarah’s tactful support comes from a place of real mastery. She never overwhelms you but somehow always challenges you to do better.  She can hold space for you with compassion and never judges you. She coaches you and is with you the whole way but you never feel smothered. What I love about working with Sarah is that you can trust her. She is a transparent and authentic leader and coach. She is in it for her and for YOU!

We adjusted my macros to higher fat lower carb because we discovered I am fat-adapted - (probably through many years of yoga practice and dieting in my life before weightlifting). We collaborated on my race training and planned every day running of the month out while keeping my cross-training with barbell and power yoga a priority.

We planned my race snacks for the day of and planned a strategy around proper rest. My goal was to finish it without stopping running, regardless of how long it took. I finished it and ran the whole time with my dog Ashoka by my side. We took little stops to drink some sips of water at the water stations but that’s it. Ashoka and I each used a Manuaka honey stick around mile 11.

I was prepared, fueled, and healthy.

Recovery has been great and we are already planning my next training for a Hyrox competition. What I am accomplishing is nothing less than a miracle to me I can’t believe I am doing what I am doing. Without the foundation of nutrition, none of it would be possible.

Thank you so much for your kind words, Shannon. It’s a privilege to work with every client and I love supporting them on their journies.

If you’re ready to feel fueled, energized, confident, and supported, send me a message through the form below to get started!
